A rebuilt 1744 stockade fort on the Connecticut River, once the northernmost British settlement in the area. Costumed staff are there daily, cooking over open fires, working the blacksmith shop, drilling with muskets, so you get to experience the routine of the 1700s... not just walking past exhibit signs. Seasonal hours, check before visiting. Dog-friendly on leash.
