Statue of Liberty is only reached by ferry with Statue City Cruises, boarding from Battery Park (NYC) or Liberty State Park (NJ—the easier option with kids, thanks to parking and shorter lines). The ferry ride is about 15 minutes and includes both Liberty Island and Ellis Island on the same ticket. On Liberty Island, families can tour the statue’s museum, grab food at the café, and, with advance tickets, climb into the pedestal or crown. Plan half a day, expect airport-style security, and bring snacks for the lines.
