Squirrel Point Light

Unlike the lighthouses down the road, this one takes a short hike to reach... about 0.6 miles through the woods and over a tidal footbridge from the Bald Head Road parking area, easy and mostly flat. The 1898 lighthouse and its keeper's house are still standing at the end, overlooking the Kennebec... bring bug spray in summer, and expect the footbridge to occasionally flood at very high tide.
