The oldest municipal playground in the country, opened in 1903 on the Lower East Side... slides, swings, monkey bars, and a gorgeous mosaic spray shower with a neighborhood map at its center. Bathrooms on-site, no changing table. Worth combining with a stop at the Seward Park Library next door... the children's section is one of the best in the city.
