Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village

This is the last active Shaker community left in the world, and the two Shakers who still live and work here open the village for tours in the summer so visitors can see the barns, farm, and museum up close. It's a rare chance to see living history rather than a recreation, since real people are still carrying on the traditions on the same land.
