Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse

Park at the end of Samoset Road and walk on the granite breakwater out to the lighthouse, just under a mile each way over uneven, rocky ground, so plan on 15 minutes or so in each direction. Kids need to be taller than 42 inches to climb the tower when volunteers are there for tours. There are no restrooms or trash cans anywhere along the walk, so plan ahead and carry out what you bring. Free to visit, open sunrise to sunset, best avoided at high tide when waves can splash over the stones.
