Pete’s Tavern (Gramercy Park) becomes a festive must-stop when the holidays roll in. Its red-glow exterior and garland-wrapped interior feel like stepping into a vintage Christmas card. Inside the building (which dates back to the 1850s and has been a bar or tavern since 1864) you’ll find original booths and woodwork that whisper “old-New-York holiday magic.”  Kids will point out the toy and train displays and twinkling lights, while you get your historic dining fix.
