Enoteca Maria is a tiny, Michelin-recognized restaurant a few blocks from the Staten Island Ferry terminal where real grandmothers from around the world cook their family recipes from scratch. One kitchen always has an Italian nonna, while a second features a nonna from another country so the menu changes every visit depending on who's cooking that day. It's a special outing for families who love food and culture, and kids tend to be charmed by meeting the nonnas. Open Friday through Sunday, reservations required. Cash only
