About
This was the site of George Washington's largest winter encampment during the Revolutionary War, and it's actually the very first national historical park ever created in the country. Kids can tour Washington's actual headquarters, walk 27 miles of hiking trails, and see reconstructed soldier huts out at Jockey Hollow where thousands of troops camped through a brutal winter. Free to visit the grounds, small fee for the museum and Ford Mansion tours, and dogs on leash are welcome outside the buildings.
