About

This soaring concrete “castle” built in 1916 houses a jaw-dropping collection of over 40,000 early-American tools and artifacts. Wagons, carriages, and fire engines suspended from the ceilings.  It’s a self-guided adventure through pre‑industrial life that fascinates both history buffs and curious kids. Best for ages 8+, but younger explorers will enjoy the “Animals on the Loose” kids’ trail (ages 3–8).  Mostly stroller- and wheelchair-accessible on the ground floor; upper levels have narrow staircases. Admission: around $20 adults; seniors $17; students $15; youth (6–17) $10; free for under‑5s. Plan for 1-2 hours
