This free nature center inside Hammonasset Beach State Park is packed with hands-on ways to explore Connecticut’s shoreline wildlife. Kids can see live turtles, snakes, frogs, fish and crabs, explore interactive exhibits and, in season, get hands-on with creatures from Long Island Sound in the touch tank. They also offer free daily nature programs.
