About

This star-shaped fort overlooks Lake Ontario and has a surprising history: from 1944 to 1946, it was the only refugee camp in the U.S. for Holocaust survivors during World War II. Kids can walk the top of the fort and take in the lake views, explore underground tunnels and storage rooms, and tour the old barracks and offices inside. Dogs on leash are welcome on the grounds.
