From late November through early January, Dyker Heights turns into one of NYC’s most over-the-top holiday light displays... and it’s totally free to explore. Wander between 11th and 13th Avenues (around 83rd–86th Streets) to see glowing Santas, giant nutcrackers, and rooftops lit brighter than Times Square. Lights usually flip on at dusk and run until about 9 or 10 pm. Skip the parking stress and take the D or R train instead.
