This is a real 1856 canal boat repair yard along the old Erie Canal, with dry docks, a blacksmith shop, and a full-size canal boat kids can walk right through to see how it was built. There are miles of walking and biking trails around the site too, plus kayak rentals if you want to get out on the water. Small admission fee, though it's worth calling ahead since hours can be limited.
